Would Soi Lek dare bark at Najib over hudud?
8:39AM Jul 3, 2012
YOURSAY 'Chua responded on a Twitter posting? If Soi Lek has got guts, he should have his comments front-paged in The Star.'

MCA chief blasts Umno rep over 'hudud for all' call

Bersih Generation Malaysian: MCA chief Dr Chua Soi Lek, this small potato from Johor Umno now wants hudud law to apply to all races.

Does that mean Umno is more extreme than PAS on Islamic matters and is trying to impose hudud on non-Muslims as well?

You have been accusing DAP of supporting the hudud law championed by PAS and a representative from your ‘master' party now wants to implement it on non-Muslims in Johor.

You bark your disagreement against this small potato from Kemelah, but I wonder if you would dare do the same if this rubbish came from DPM Muhyiddin Yassin.

Shanandoah:
Chua, this blast from you is not enough. You have to do more if you are to win Chinese support.

You have now seen what Umno is like. If you still choose to support them in oppressing the non-Malays in this country, by banging on race and religion and now hudud, what have you got to say?

MCA must leave the BN coalition if they want to claim equality for all races who are Malaysians.

Artchan:
Chua responded on a Twitter posting? Who cares? If Chua Soi Lek has got guts, he should have his comments front-paged in MCA-owned The Star.

Shengxiao:
Not just The Star, have your criticisms front-paged in New Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia and all other Malay newspapers as well. Just tweeting is not good enough.

SMC77:
Chua, don't waste your time. You only know how to attack a small fry likes Kemelah assemblyperson Ayub Rahmat.

Do you have the guts to ask your masters, PM Najib Razak and Muhyiddin, to shut up and get lost if they had raised the same issue?

Thetruth:
Has Chua nothing better to do? He is playing the same ‘wayang' again and again.

Chua and his gang just don't understand this kind of ‘wayang' won't work anymore. This is a clear sign of how desperate BN is in Johor, not to mention the whole of Malaysia.

Takung: This seems like a no-win scenario for MCA. If Chua makes a lot of noise and the small fry (note this is a small fry who said this, so that big guns don't have to lose face) retracts the proposal, this will be interpreted as the ‘sandiwara' that it is.

If, despite Chua's barking and the small fry's proposal is adopted, then it just proves what we have known for the last 50 odd years on the relationship between Umno and MCA.

Bmjr: Many of the drafters of the American constitution were God-fearing men but they saw the danger of allowing religion to get into the running of the state and the United States is the better for it due to their foresight.

Keep your faith to yourself and live by it by all accounts but desist from hijacking our lives and the well-being of the country by having mullahs in charge. Isn't one Afghanistan enough?

However, this hudud issue is just another drama thought up by the BN team to flog the PAS bogeyman and for MCA to woo back the Chinese voters. And Chua Soi Lek is now the white knight who will save the country from Pakatan Rakyat and PAS.

: The constitution clearly protects every citizen's right to follow and practice his/her own faith.

That this issue was even allowed to be discussed or raised by the BN regime goes to show that the regime does not respect the very constitution that it was voted in to uphold.

Artchan:
There is nothing wrong with hudud or any law if enforced justly. With our judiciary being raped by the government, is there any guarantee that hudud won't be hijacked at all?

Now we even see fatwas issued by ulama with political leanings. And the Muslim leaders in BN, have they shown any fear for God?

The way they rob and cheat, and bomb mothers with unborn babies, and their buttock-grabbing ministers, etc, this will make hudud a joke.

Ccsan: Whether it is PAS' or Umno's version, hudud law should never be implemented in Malaysia where Muslims make up only 60 percent of the population. Moreover, its implementation is contrary to various articles of the federal constitution.

Kakarook:
For 55 years, Umno has been belittling MCA. I wonder why MCA is still worshipping Umno. PAS, on the other hand, was once with BN, but they had the guts to leave BN because of Umno.

And they never looked back despite money and offers of a menteri besar's post. So PAS is still a much better party than MCA.
What are you, MCA, waiting for? Do you still want to live on Umno bread crumbs?

Anonymous #15167679: All this is just play acting for the good of BN to win the kampung votes. This is ‘I help you, you help me' strategy between the two BN parties.

What is wrong with hudud law? I am a Buddhist and to me a law is a law regardless of its religious connotation, because a wrong is a wrong.

PAS' interpretation of Islam is more reasonable and I will vote PAS even if Pakatan nominates a PAS candidate against MCA, for example in Bukit Bintang.

Lim Chong Leong: I have seen this movie routine too many times. No one is interested in hudud, so MCA conspired with that Umno assemblyperson to raise a hudud war cry.

This is the good cop, bad cop routine as usual - boring lah.

ABK:
Chua, you must be very worried of hudud law as you know for adultery, the punishment is by stoning. Had you not been previously caught in the act, you would have supported its implementation as it is your master's wish.
