May 23, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 — Datuk Abdul Rahim Dahalan, who participated in the North Pole parachute expedition in 2007, died at his younger brother’s house in Kampung Tengah, Kluang, Johor at 5.45pm today.

His younger brother, Ramlan Ibrahim, told Bernama that Abdul Rahim, 65, breathed his last in the presence of family members after suffering from a heart ailment.

Abdul Rahim, who was also known as “Rahim King”, once served as special officer to former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Ramlan said his elder brother would be buried at the Kampung Tengah Muslim Cemetery, Kluang after ‘zohor’ prayers tomorrow.

Dr Mahathir is expected to pay his last respects to Abdul Rahim at about 10am tomorrow, Ramlan said.

He said that Abdul Rahim’s remains would be placed in a mosque nearby to enable relatives and friends to pay their last respects while the Defence Ministry would assist with funeral arrangements. — Bernama
