PNP warns cops vs joining Kiram group in Sabah
ZAMBOANGA CITY - Philippine National Police (PNP) Director
General Allan La Madrid Purisima has warned policemen against leaving
their posts to join the so called Royal Army of the Sultanate of Sulu
in its current standoff with Malaysian police and military in Lahad
Datu, Sabah.
Purisima said any policeman who disobeys this order will be dismissed from service and dropped from the rolls.
He met with top regional police officials in this city Thursday evening after visiting the city and nearby provinces. He arrived with Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas Thursday morning.
While there are no reports of policemen leaving their posts, there could be some policemen with relatives or supporters of the Kiram family who might want to reinforce Agbimuddin Kiram, the younger brother of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III.
Agbimuddin, along with some 300 followers including some armed men left Simunul and landed in Lahat Datu, Sabah some two weeks ago.
